Re: The Art of War Vehicles
This vehicle section was an older resource which was used for public vehicle presentation, however, since more and more units were released and revealed, the need for a brand new section increased a lot.
As of now, we're working on a brand new major forum section (dedicated to show vehicles on a much more organized manner).

The brand new forum section is now running:
https://taow.forumotion.com/the-art-of-war-units-c2/
Note that the vehicles will be gradually included, so many will appear over time.

We will hopefully include two of it's variants:
- MH-60L - Specialized troop transport / probable vehicle carrier (light vehicles) / large fuel reserves (if the fuel system is included) / window mounted weapons;
- AH-60L - Heavily armed version of the helicopter for troop support purposes.
The "Class System" will also come into play for these Black Hawks.

All flown by the 160 SOAR
(i hope that the fuel system works out, a new dimension of realism is opened then)

Re: The Art of War Vehicles
By the way, here's our MH-60L:
The Black Hawks are still to be added to the TAOW Unit Section (each variant will have it's separate render and presentation topic).

Re: The Art of War Vehicles
Lots of russian vehicle models are complete although not skinned.
The Russian Soldiers are also complete and skinned but may receive an upgraded model.
Russian AK-74M1 is complete but will be replaced with the AN-94, but the scopes, accessories and gp-25 are complete.
PKM,ak-47,SVD,RPK,rpg-7, are already in game with the Taliban. (this is all highly classified info btw)

Re: The Art of War Vehicles
I'm relatively new but anyways I like how you guys are taking the time to do research on each individual vehicle (Must say as a massive military buff this is the most impressive mod i've seen).
But about that page with the Russian vehicles perhaps you could drop the T-95 and perhaps go with the T-80 instead since no one really even knows what the T-95 (btw the T-95 pic is actually a T-80UM2)

Re: The Art of War Vehicles
That's correct the t-95 does exist although very few have seen it. In our mod it is considered a next generation weapon. Since our mod takes place in the near future.
Re: The Art of War Vehicles
Indeed. I wonder when Russia will Actually unviel it. Hopefully it'll be soon (was actually suprised because when they actually showed the PAK FA). anyways i look forward to seeing what you guys come up with.

Re: The Art of War Vehicles
Yeah same here. When the images of the pak-fa were released i was simply amazed. They weren't kidding.
Re: The Art of War Vehicles
Yeah, Another interesting think that the Chinese are said to be developing a tank similiar to the T-95 called the CSU-152 although it's also shrouded in secrecy. Also the U.S. confirmed the M1A3 is in early stages of development and prototypes should be ready by 2014 and will enter service in 2017 so it looks like it's going to be an interesting decade for MBTs

Re: The Art of War Vehicles
Yeah, These future developments in armor are definitely going to be revolutionary. An M1A3, i wonder how they're gonna pull off removing the extra weight. almost everything on the abrams is almost necessary for it to run in combat effectively.
Lighter armor, = less protection. Unless they switch to plastic armor. a combination of materials mixed with a plastic apparently creating a much stronger and lightweight protection.

Re: The Art of War Vehicles
well one thing i hear they're supposed to do is add the XM291 with an autoloader which would save alot of wieght (not only does this allow for a smaller cabin size but the XM291 is also much lighter and more lethal than the M256). Another thing is to replace the T-158 tracks with a some new rubbery materials which will also save a lot of wieght (since i believe each track is currently ~7500IBs). And one of the requirements is to have superior or equal protection to current M1A2s. Anyways we'll have to wait and see (but i must say i like what i'm seeing so far )

Re: The Art of War Vehicles
Yeah, the military i guess had time to experience with auto loaders with the Stryker and all. It's gonna be interesting seeing a 3 man crew on an Abrams. I guess they kinda felt out of place seeing as almost everyone is doing auto-loaders. Even the Russians.
Re: The Art of War Vehicles
All of these future tank development makes me wonder what concepts Germany is coming up for the Leopard 3.
