not that i'm againsed using cancelled projects in TAOW (because i voted for the XM8 Razz ), but since the (X)M312 was cancelled a new project for the (X)M806 has commenced. only problem is, i don't think it's remote controlled. Neutral

Yup, evidence lead to believe that a new machine gun (XM806, aka 'LW50MG') will be the definitive M2HB machine gun replacement for the US Forces.

MBT - M1A2 SEP 2.0 'TUSK' Lw50-1

Essentially the LW50MG is like the daughter of the M2HB and XM307/XM312 machine guns with some new interesting features (further reduced recoil and weight for example) and the omnipresent Picatinny/NATO rails (to attach extra accessories). The weapon itself is being built by General Dynamics, the current major manufacturer of the M2HB and the XM307/XM312 creators.

As for the remote controlled issue, not to worry because current RWS (Remote Weapon Stations) can easily fit these machine guns (since it may only require typical M2HB mounts).
In fact, due to the LW50MG's light weight it can be mounted on pretty much all new generation light RWSs (that is also mentioned on that machine gun's presentation brochure).

Early this year me and Marc talked about the XM312 and if we should include the LW50MG instead. Since at that time there was no public footage of the LW50MG we decided to keep the XM312 (not to mention that the model was already prepared and rollin' in game).

However that does not necessarily mean the LW50MG won't be included in TAOW (specially since we have/will have so many variants and weapons MBT - M1A2 SEP 2.0 'TUSK' 356497 ).

maybe the LW50MG should be even a higher class, or not a whole class, but a sort of update of the xm312. So keep the X in front of the name and put (experimental) in front of it too and then you can buy an extra upgrade, the LW50MG, just like in real life => TAOW = realism affraid lol!

EDIT: Then you can maybe also include a lot of weapon failures with the XM312 (using the randomizer), so that after a certain time you want to get rid of it and replace it by the LW50MG
Thumbs Up!

greetz cheers
