Since I'm guessing we probably won't be getting the entire finished mod, (understandable considering how much there is to do) how about a mini mod for a little taste of what you guys got cookin? Some decent infantry and some amphib vehicles would keep me content for a while. That might be a good way to help promote the mod. A little taste tease if you will. Happy Early B-Day Squadleader. Though the team would love to release the mod in the near future I'm afraid I currently don't have a specific release date estimative (it'll mainly depend on the coding phase).

Precisely , the plan regarding a public TAOW demonstration was thoroughly analyzed by the whole team during these last two months.

Initially we planned to release three, separate Beta versions (one per faction - US / EU and RF - respectively), each Beta would have non-story related missions (the player would basically play through special missions against local opposition such as rebels or insurgents (to basically check out the new modifications, in game pace, units and hardware, graphic enhancements, etc.)).

However, after careful planning the team voted to create a joint, organized and expanded Demo version (with a playable part of each of the main factions) plus with story-based missions and probably a playable Naval Mode.

Basically we intend to create an important and memorable Demo

However, before that Demo version is a reality we'll have various internal Beta versions for our Forum Members and vitally: Project Supporters and Contributers to try (we'll need the beta players to closely keep the team updated on bugs or errors (for example) so we can have everything fixed before the Big One (the official Public Demo version), until then The Art of War is like wine: the older it gets (and the more it grows and evolve), the tastier it'll be (and judging by recent developments it'll be specially "Tasty" ).

I'm afraid we don't have an estimative based on percentage (the mod advancements are very variable).

The Third Mega Update ('TMU') itself will have a lot of in game content, before we release the TMU we have two exclusive Mini Updates (both will cover different themes).

then u can improve infantry weapons, so that infantry is quite powerfull, and nice skinned (not so nice as TAOW of course )

Infantrywise it includes:

Rangers - Standard ZH.
Marines - Heavy automatic weapons & Grenades. (efficient infantry and tank killers)
Special Ops - Automatic weapons & HE Grenades & Smoke Grenades.
Seals - HALO dropped Seal squad (8 strong) with Col. Butron type explosives capabilities & stealth.
Pathfinders - Standard ZH
Col. Burton - Standard ZH

Notes about the Special Ops inf. - They can be built at the barracks or they can be purchased from the airfield with eight spec ops inf preloaded into a machine-gun armed UH-60 Blackhawk (a real time saver).

During the game, I build a Rapid Reaction Team of 2 spec ops UH-60's and 2 AH-60 attack Blackhawks for escort. With this force I can rapidly defend a distant chokepoint or structure until armored reinforcements arrive. This type of RRT also works well for SAR missions.

My only gripe about the preloaded special ops UH-60 is that it doesn't have anyone aboard to capture structures. So, you're going to have to take the time to load a ranger aboard if you're going after a tech structure.

There is a Project Raptor 7.0 that has some different weapon upgrades for Col. Burton, but I don't really like that version since the Navy was removed (due to bugs). I do recommend playing the 6.0 version even with the naval and other bugs. Just avoid these four game killin' things:

1. Don't use the Chinese battleship. Buggy & wont dissappear when killed.
2. In the civilian airport do not play with the Sea devil (sea stallion) helo. Once killed, it will spiral down to the ground and crash the game everytime.
3. Don't play against a stealth general AI. Game sometimes crashed. This bug was fixed in the unreleased version 8.0.
4. If playing online, Militia War factories have a gun that when fired, causes the game to unsync.

It's a great mod that is sadly no longer in production.

Sounds to me that they would be good additions to the TAOW team. How about contacting some of the makers of dead or abandoned ZH mods? With all the units Marc has produced, and its pretty extensive, the vehicle table is still lookin unfinished. Getting a hold of the people who have already experimented with moding ZH that might have some tips and tricks up their sleeve. Which should same alot of time and effort, and maybe even put this mod in peoples hands sooner. And talking about having the mod in hand, when its time for a beta tester and TAOW need someone with alot of time to spend testing.

me too, but i cant find a good one. An act of war used to be a very good one,but they didnt made it till just a bugy beta version

It's not our specific (TAOW) mod, the An Act of War (commonly abbreviated as 'AoW') was another very important Zero Hour project which unfortunately seems to have ceased.

They released a beta version for the public to play some years ago, but I haven't heard from them in about 2 years so we should assume their project was canceled .
