New Standard US Weapon Poll

Well somehow I think that there will be no change in the Standart Rifle in the US, neither Army or the Corps they had trails several times, but they didn't step forward and said we'll buy this one, except for the SOCOM but they do what they want to.

But my money would be on the M-468 or the M-416

Too true, the selection is hot, even though that's a realistic selection (that's why there are no XM29's around here).

Too true, in fact the closest thing the US Military will adopt as a "new assault rifle" will be either the upper receiver from the HK416 or the Colt version which is now almost available for production OR the one from the Barrett REC7/M468 (the costs would be dramatically smaller than having to purchase brand new weapon systems).

By simply changing the original and somewhat problematic direct gas system (from the M16/M4) with a short-stroke gas piston system from the HK416 or REC7, costs are dramatically reduced and the current M16/M4's can remain in tip top shape for a long time.

Well, I don't think we'll have to be so dramatic , we hope that in the next update (once we announce the poll), some of the weapons will take the lead and eventually one of them will be automatically selected (or we'll have to extend it for a bit longer).

cause its more realstic the first weapon is also good

but u guys have to do the soldeir like in the pic from heckler weapon plsssssssssssss

u have to do that some guys wear glasse black glasses (like in the pic)

It looks like both the XM8 and the HK416 are favorites

If chosen, the weapons will undergo a small "cosmetic" name change:

- XM8 will be renamed to the 'M8';



- HK416 -» 'M416'.



That is due to the fact that officially adopted US Military weapons are usually designated with the "M" (like the M16 or M4 case among many others).

There will be hundreds of different soldiers, many have different gear so some might as well have those protective glasses.

yes i mean this but pls the sunglasses from the guy who climb up the wall ok;-)

I think some of our soldiers are using similar sun/protecting glasses

In addition, some soldiers will most likely use other eye protecting glasses/equipment.

I was hoping to see "birth control" glasses. 8)

That might be a bit too dramatic for our infantry

I think its a bit to tramatic for infantry period. Cause low self esteem and high sperm count. Not a good combination in the field.

Definitely not, it's a bad way to affect the "morale"

I'd say black glasses might be included, but it would randomly appear on soldiers (depending on the chances).

BTW Snake How Much More will This Poll Last???

It'll still last quite a bit, the poll was only limitedly "announced" (when I made a post on our Moddb profile) so people in general aren't aware of the poll.

During the Second Mega Update ("SMU"), we will announce it to the general public (that is ought to bring some extra attention and hopefully rack up a few extra votes ).

During the Third Mega Update (the last one in the series of Mega Updates), we will announce the end of the poll.

Well, we also thought of that (initially to translate the English updates into French specially because the team is fluent in French).

But to release it in German would be very difficult because we aren't fluent in it.

if u want i can try it to transalte on german ??? u have to give me the upgrde per email i write it on wordpad and i send u email agian ??

The main problem is that we have a very limited space for showing the update (on sites like Moddb), and we have to keep the update space to a minimum (even with it only in English language), many thanks for the proposal though.

If we had the ability to do so, we would have shown our updates on more languages in addition to German (French for example).
