Actually we wanted to release the second Mega Update part at least a month and a half ago, but we have some technical difficulties and aren't able to do so at the moment (we will update as soon as possible).

The vehicles we have for the next update are prepared for at least 2 months (in fact, we even have some vehicles like the MH-47E Chinook which we forgot to announce in the first update , and are including it on the second part), the US Standard Weapon Poll was supposed to be released at the same time, but we decided to give the go ahead for it (we'll announce the poll on moddb once we update the mod, this way people will know we already started it).

In fact, the Second Mega Update is pretty much prepared, we just need to fix some things (fully prepare the vehicle renders) and voila

the Svender Is a futur planed gattling cannon for germany
though it's not yet published

the Model looks are praticly the same than the US's gattling ........
the only difference is that it look more buffer
in other words it's built with metalic surrounding

Sounds interesting, but since Gatlings are gonna be mostly used for ship defense / helicopter / gunship weapons, we won't likely include that particular cannon.

The ships will carry their standard issue CIWS (Close-In Weapon Systems) like in real life (there will be several kinds of CIWS besides Gatling-based weapons though).

At first we always thought to include bases, our base idea at first was to make buildings and building deployment/construction as realistic as possible, this would include buildings like tents and other fast-built/deployed facilities (in real life)

However, during our brainstorming, we had an even bolder and even shocking idea (by Zero Hour's standards, since no one had dared to launch a public project with this idea adapted to such a high level):

To remove bases altogether to give the mod a much more realistic look

We obviously didn't make this just for realism's sake (in terms of construction), this allows us to make much richer environments (by "rerouting" the poly count which would be wasted in creating bases to do a much more richer and realistic environment), no more huge "plains" (which are the "building zones" in standard Zero Hour, I mean, what are the odds of finding so many plains like that in real life... near to null).
We will create much more realistic civilian environments (and even civilians, no longer civilians will be just blocks running around mindlessly on the battlefield).


About artillery, we may completely remove the "off map" artillery (which is used by the Chinese faction in ZH) and make players able to manually control their own artillery in game.

(The ZH "off map" artillery is very unrealistic, artillery in real life usually fire in a continuous rate on a certain time span or controlled bursts, not a ton of shells in such a small time period (almost at the same time), I mean, to do that you would need an artillery battalion to fire a mere single shell per vehicle , there are many new artillery systems which will allow to fire a lot if shells in very small time span, even so, they aren't "Shell MLRSs"). Another new application is the "shell synchronization", the German PzH 2000 is able to land up 5/6 shells upon a target at almost the same time by firing at several altitude angles (that isn't intended on that particular ZH strike as far as realism goes).


There will be several "levels" of artillery and indirect fire support available:

- be it highly mobile and stealthy mortar teams (infantry);
- Medium Mortars (Stryker - M1129 Mortar Carrier)
- to the heavier self propelled Howitzers (like the M109);
- and to Mobile Rocket Artillery (like the M270 MLRS).

There will be several kinds if ammo for certain special duties (and for expanding and making artillery more "flexible"), for example, the M270 will be able to launch special rockets which will cover a large area with smoke at extremely long ranges (fantastic for safer retreats or for "blinding" the enemy view).

There will be also later, more effective and advanced upgrades, but I can't reveal them right now

Artillery will have huuuge ranges, but will need to work as a team with artillery spotters (the recon units we talked about the other day).

me and some guys were headin home after a basket ball game , we got on a rough road,
i was drivin, drivin, drivin, until i see a human body popping out from the sswers he was armed dunno exactly
i saw the shadow of an AK47 though, lookin at us , we coudn't identifie him(it was after 10:00PM) he aims at us
that the car shuts down and when we re-start in with the carlights , he or it disapered
[I was left with a flat tire ]
we thought it was a terrorrist

Well, fortunately I never had such a strange experience like the one you described on the PM (fortunately ).

About your second experience, I may be able to describe a pretty accurate first person report:

Me and my friends were playing airsoft (MilSim, military simulation) on a heavily forested area (right in the middle of the hoods), there was only a single main road which separated the two sides of those woods, each one of us had a "base" (starting point), I was on the highest area (isolated, the best point to attack the others due to the huge field of vision and range).

I was camouflaged near the road and used some logs as my cover point while keeping guard (it was located in the middle of my starting point), the other teams would have to get through me to advance to my base (and they had basically no cover and had to rush the mountain, giving me the top edge in the "battle" simulation ).

As I waited, some cars got through the road, eventually a jeep with an old couple started to pass along that road and as my friends were starting to rush up the mountain to begin the attack on my base, I suddenly popped out of the cover and started to "fire", Rambo-style, the old couple was calmly riding along as they saw me and became scared shitless (loool I still remember the expression on the old woman's face, priceless ), the old couple quickly drove away and half an hour later the police was on us , the old couple thought we were illegal hunters (since it was a no-hunting season), we explained the situation to the police and they let us go, from there on we couldn't play on that particular area of the woods , that was some sweet area for some serious and fun MilSim, but the road makes a lot of people pass and we may scare them.

I think that AK47 guy was probably doing the same as me (waiting in cover).

Plus he shot the perfect sound of a real bullet shot from an ak47

BTW ya reminded me with another story involving Airsoft

me and my friends were also playin with airsoft guns...
2 bases as well , we were 20 (10vs10)
fortunatly i was the commander of my team
there was a fortress up a hill i "ordered" A Capture Team of 3 to well Capture the fortresse
we captured it , we provided sniper cover from there,
i was headed with a strike team of 5 we were out to hit the enemy ... i plented Mines (not real )

when we were out huntin i was headed to the fortress a young couple "making Out" wile they were walking the min blew , i still remember the image .... walkin bammmm! the guy fell in a puddle .... wile the girl flew & hit a tree LOOOL she actually flew .... she was out... then woke up she saw me blastin the enemy she sreamed so hard my ears practicly shattered then the couple ran like flash to the car and escaped like cockroaches
then maybe 7 to 8 police cars came .... a friend was scamming them he ran like a maniac "you'll never take me alive coppers hahah!" we got suspended the fun had 2 end somehow but that was a good memory

Ironically, me and the lads also "interrupted" a couple while it was privately "in the woods" (if you know what I mean)

As we got closer to "inspect" the parked Mercedes they hastily drove away

a heavy airsoft chaingun mounted with a rocket launcher (rockets replaced by paint and Stuff!!! )
